New Electric consists of a unique team of electrical, mechanical, and software engineers. Together with our customers, we design a new type of electrification and deliver turn-key electrifications of large construction machinery.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Every electrification process starts with a comprehensive analysis of what is precisely required of a machine. The number of hours a machine needs to be operational per day. How much diesel the machine consumes per hour, in a continuous shift and per day. What the distribution is between driving the machine from A to B and how much is the usage during the work of the machine. What the required energy is during the work and what the peak load is. At what temperatures the machine needs to function.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Ideally, we will then work together with the OEM, from whom we will receive not only the consumption data, but also the relevant design drawings and information about the type of communication and communication messages that control the machine. If this information is not available, a further analysis of the specific machine will follow first, during which we will read out all the machine's messages. This is necessary to seamlessly integrate the machine with the electric powertrain, whereby the machine will continue to think as though there is a diesel engine with a petrol tank inside.\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

Battery Design<\/h3>

Our mechanical engineers get to work with this information to create a battery design. New Electric distinguishes itself here by developing custom-made batteries for a specific machine. As a result, based on the boundary conditions, we are able to design the largest possible capacity for a specific construction machine.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tNext, our Electrical Engineering team starts with the electrical design, the electrical schematics and parameterisation of the battery management system (BMS). The BMS is essential because in electric machinery it concerns the beating heart of the system. Integrated Power Distribution Units (PDUs) are directly connected to the battery outputs at New Electric, enabling simple high-voltage cabling and also saving space required for the PDU.\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

Software<\/span><\/h3>

Meanwhile, the New Electric Software team is working on the integration of the various systems that will eventually all come together, including remote monitoring systems to [monitor\/manage] the machine during use\u00a0any time realtime<\/em>\u00a0to be able to monitor all essential functions. This data is also used as input for our customers' various fleet management systems and optionally for the OEMs.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

Preparing chassis<\/h3>

The removal of the diesel engine and the manufacturing of the mechanical modifications are ideally carried out by the OEM or importer prior to the delivery of the (new) machine. At New Electric, we strive continuously for improvements. That is also essential because the machines we electrify are essentially prototypes that are actually deployed on the job every day. It is therefore evident that subsequent productions feature improvements. For example, through input from users and maintenance engineers.<\/p>
